The Palestinian National Commission for Environment and Development hosts an awareness workshop entitled “Alternative Means of Conflict Resolution in Light of the Disruption of the Justice Sector Due to War” in cooperation with the Center for Community Development and Media as part of the “Spreading Justice” project
The Palestinian Civil Society Organization for Environment and Development (PCED), in collaboration with the Center for Community Development and Media, hosted an awareness workshop entitled “Alternative Means of Conflict Resolution in Light of the Disruption of the Justice Sector Due to War,” as part of the activities of the “Spreading Justice” project, which seeks to promote legal awareness and access to justice in the tense Palestinian context.
The workshop targeted a group of young lawyers, community activists, and those interested in the field of justice. It aimed to introduce participants to the importance of alternative dispute resolution methods—such as mediation, arbitration, and conciliation—as effective and safe means of resolving disputes outside the judicial system, especially in light of the disruption of official courts as a result of the ongoing war.
The workshop included legal presentations and interactive discussions on ways to promote the use of these methods in Palestinian society, the challenges that prevent their institutionalization, and the importance of civil society organizations in spreading this culture.
At the end of the workshop, participants emphasized the need to continue awareness-raising workshops in this area and to work on building the capacities of young people and legal professionals to use alternative means as a vital tool for reducing the burden on the judicial system and promoting community peace.
