The Palestinian Civil Society Organization for Environment and Development (PCED) participated in a special dialogue session to discuss the reality of education in the Gaza Strip, which brought together a select group of representatives from educational, academic, and community institutions, with the aim of highlighting the challenges facing the educational process in light of the emergency conditions resulting from the ongoing aggression against the Strip.

During the session, Dr. Hala Al-Harazin, Chair of the Authority’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the education sector is at the heart of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and that protecting children’s right to education must be a national and community priority. She noted the importance of activating partnerships between official and civil institutions to bridge the educational and psychological gaps suffered by students and teachers.

Al-Harazin added that the Commission pays special attention to supporting students and educational frameworks through the implementation of awareness and community programs and initiatives for psychological and educational support, in cooperation with local and international entities, in order to mitigate the effects of war on the educational process.

The session recommended the need to develop a comprehensive educational contingency plan that ensures the continuity of education and provides a safe and healthy environment for students, in addition to promoting the use of alternative teaching tools and educational technology in line with the reality in Gaza.
