The Palestinian Civil Society Organization continues to provide hot meals through “Takiya Al-Khair” throughout August and until the return of displaced persons to Gaza during the truce – August 5, 2024

As part of its ongoing humanitarian response, the Palestinian Civil Society Organization implemented the “Takia Al-Khair” activity during August 2024, providing daily hot meals to displaced families affected by the war in shelters and border areas.
This vital activity continued throughout the month, until the temporary truce, during which displaced families gradually returned to their areas in the Gaza Strip. The soup kitchen played an important role in securing daily food for thousands of people in the absence of sources of income, the scarcity of food, and the difficulty of cooking or storing food in displacement conditions.
The Authority emphasized that the continuation of the Takaya’s work throughout the displacement period and until the beginning of the return reflects its commitment to supporting the resilience of the population and assisting them in the most difficult circumstances, in cooperation with volunteers and supporting institutions that worked to secure the necessary funding and resources.
The local authority also stressed the importance of expanding such initiatives, especially in light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the need for sustainable support for returning families facing significant challenges in rebuilding their lives.
